First Steps in CERT

First Steps in CERT

Last night I attended a 3 hour CERT training class sponsored by the town fire department. CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team and is associated with Citizens Corp and FEMA. The idea behind CERT is that in times of disaster, natural or manmade, where first responders, such as the fire department, EMT’s, police, etc. might get overwhelmed, they have trained, local citizens who can help in a variety of emergency situations. Nothing extremely fancy, but I’d like to play around more with type/fonts. Complete revamp of the “About” page. The personality tests are fun, but I’m wanting this page to be more engaging…. Tuning In To The Social Network

So a friend lent me the DVD for the movie, The Social Network, last week and I was able to finish watching it this weekend. The movie is a take on how Mark Zuckerberg started Facebook and the events that led up to its extreme popularity today. There were times when I really sympathized with Zuckerberg as well as times when I thought, “What a wretched little jerk! I should go delete my Facebook account right now!” Naturally, there were… Continue Reading
